We know that the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the four biographies in the New Testament that tell us about Jesus of Nazareth. Many of us have read them, studied them, and heard messages preached on them, but is it possible there is something more going on? In his book, “How God Became King – The Forgotten Story of the Gospels”, N.T. Wright suggests that the Gospel writers were telling the story of Jesus as the fulfillment of the much larger kingdom story that God has been telling from the beginning. If you want to go deeper into the heart of the Gospels or you just want to discover more about Jesus and the kingdom He spoke so much about, join us on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30, as we study this engaging and challenging book. This is a 10 week, mixed-group study led by Amy Orth. To register for this study, click here: Bible Study Registration Form-Winter 2020
Join a Supper Club!
If you're interested in an opportunity to get to know others in your church family over friendly conversation in a relaxed atmosphere, we invite you to join a Supper Club! Supper Clubs are about building meaningful connections and authentic community with one another at Sunridge and we believe that something powerful and life-giving can happen when we simply come together to share meals in our homes. People are placed in groups of either 4 couples, 8 individuals, or a combination of both. You can be paired with one couple/person you already know. The rest will be new friends! The idea is to meet in a home to have dinner together once a month at least and members can potluck or rotate responsibilities per meeting. There will be Table Talk ideas provided and easy games to play, if desired.
When: There will be a Kickoff Dinner in the MPR on Friday, Feb 28 at 6pm to meet your Supper Club members, then you will meet once a month for dinner in a home in March, April, and May.
Cost: $5 per person

As Christians, we are not promised lives of ease. Often it takes just a small moment of beauty to regain hope and continue on when life is chaotic and unpredictable. Only when we learn to spot the lovely in the midst of hardship can we experience the transcendent peace of God that keeps us persevering when we want to give up. In this 7-session Bible study, Annie F. Downs examines the ordinary people of the Bible—fishermen, gardeners, women, soldiers—to reveal the moments they found beauty in everyday circumstances and hope in God’s timing. Because they trusted in this: He makes everything beautiful in His time. This study begins on Thursday, January 16. Class time is 6:30-7:30 AM on the church campus. The world throws the challenge at us to find “our purpose” and sometimes uses Esther 4:14, “For you have been created for such a time as this” to help prove the point we need to be on a quest to find the one thing we are good at in this life. God’s plan is very different from the world’s. His purpose for us is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). When we do that our purpose and contentment are aligned with God’s. We bring glory to Him in the mundane, even if it is washing dishes.
