An Invitation for Kids to Attend Vacation Bible School at Our Temecula Church
It’s an exciting time of year at Sunridge Church in Temecula! We’re getting ready to host hundreds of kids for our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). So much preparation goes into this event every year, and this year is no different. Our team has been busy preparing Bible lessons, games, songs, crafts, decorations, snacks, and so much more.
This year’s VBS will be held July 6–10, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on our Temecula church campus. We pack a lot into those two hours each night! Kids will learn new songs (with accompanying dance moves), hear a story from the Bible, play team games, do a craft, and enjoy a snack.
Students are placed in small groups, each with volunteer leaders who guide them through the activities, answer their questions, and help them connect with other kids their age. They stay with the same leaders and group of kids every night, so by the end of the week, they’ve built a whole new group of friends.
One of the things that makes Sunridge’s VBS program unique in the Temecula Valley is that it takes place in the evenings. The typical morning VBS programs available at other Temecula churches throughout the summer are great, but we know that a morning schedule doesn’t work for all families. We want to make sure every family who wants their children to attend VBS during the summer has the opportunity to do so, so we created an evening program.
We also keep our VBS very affordable. We charge only $10 per child for the entire week! We don’t want anyone to be excluded from VBS at Sunridge due to cost.
Sign Your Kids Up for VBS—and Have Them Invite Their Friends
We want to pack the house at this year’s VBS at Sunridge!
Sign up your own kids, and encourage them to invite a friend (or two or three). Going to VBS together is a great way for school friends to stay in touch over the summer. It also helps kids who may be a little shy feel more comfortable having a friend by their side as they arrive. Friends can be placed in the same small group (as long as they’re in the same grade or within one grade level of each other), so they can spend the entire time together. But even if your child comes alone, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to make new friends.
Don’t wait to sign up! Some grade levels may fill up, so if you want to guarantee a spot for your child, register today. Signing up early will also ensure they receive a VBS T-shirt.
This Year’s VBS Theme at Sunridge Church in Temecula
We have a fun theme planned for this year: Junkyard Redemption. The big idea is that God created our world perfect, but sin broke that perfection, leaving things a bit worn down and rusty. Our church will be transformed into “Grandpa Rusty’s Junkyard,” which we’ll use as an illustration of how God can work in our broken world—and in our messy lives—to turn them into something beautiful and valuable. Every part of the evening, from the songs to the games to the crafts, will reinforce this message.
Kids will experience real help for today and find sure hope for the future!
Your Child Will Be Well Cared for at Sunridge Church
If you’ve attended our Temecula church on a Sunday morning or joined us for any past events, you know we take children’s safety very seriously. All of our adult volunteers are background-checked and go through our safety training. We also follow strict protocols that every volunteer is required to uphold. In addition, we offer allergy-friendly snacks for kids who need them, and parents are welcome to send snacks with their children if preferred.
Parents are welcome to stay for our “worship rally” at the beginning and end of each night.
At Sunridge, we seek to create a safe environment where kids experience a deep, Christ-centered community, helping them grow in faith with the support of caring leaders and friends.
VBS Isn’t Just for Kids Who Regularly Attend Sunridge Church
VBS at Sunridge is open to any child entering kindergarten through 5th grade. You don’t have to be a regular attendee of our church—or any church, for that matter. Consider this your official invitation to register your kids for this fun summer program!
Here’s what Tara Thomas, our Children’s Pastor, had to say:
“We’re so excited to welcome kids from all over the Temecula Valley to VBS at Sunridge Church! It’s going to be an unforgettable week filled with games, stories, snacks, crafts, and songs—plus lots of time to make new friends and reconnect with old ones. We’d love for your family to join us!”
