Originally combined as one book, Ezra and Nehemiah chronicle the return of God’s people to their home after being invaded by the Babylonians and seventy years of exile. Together, they tell the story of ordinary people accomplishing the extraordinary because “the gracious hand of God was upon them.” Ordinary people doing ordinary things with the hand of God upon them.
