As Christians, the Bible is foundational to our faith. It is composed of many books of different genres and written by various authors at different points in history, but Jesus said that the Scriptures have actually been telling one unified story since the beginning of time, and that He had come to fulfill that story. I don't know about you, but sometimes it can be hard to connect the dots with all that is going on in the Bible, and it is easy to get lost and confused. If you have a desire to explore the Bible in more depth, join us as we get our feet wet in this introductory, Bible Project study on "How to Read the Bible". This is an 8-week Women's study that will meet on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am beginning on September 24 on the patio in front of the church. Bring your beach or camp chair and come join us! Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom of God. In fact, He spent a majority of His time on earth talking about it. The story of the nation Israel, recounted in Scripture (our Old Testament), was a story of kings and kingdoms. Beginning with the creation of the heavens and the earth and the fall of humanity, Scripture tells of Yahweh, the Covenant, Creator God, calling a people, the nation Israel, to Himself and walking with them through the ups and downs, the faith and idolatry of His people, always promising that one day, He would come to restore His creation and establish His King and His everlasting Kingdom. Jesus claimed He was the fulfillment of that story, He was the King that was to come, and He was launching the Kingdom of God that the nation Israel had been waiting for. He insisted that the Scripture, the story of God's love for His creation and His "image-bearing" children, had been pointing to Him all along. If you have a desire to engage with God's kingdom story and watch it unfold from Genesis to Revelation, from Kingdom to Kingdom, join us for this 8-week Zoom Bible study on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:00 beginning September 22. Kingdom Story is a mixed-group study led by Amy Orth. Tap here to register: Bible Study Registration Form-Fall 2020
