2024 Christmas Offering

There’s something special about Christmas. Yes, the songs are joyful (and triumphant), the food is delicious, the lights are brilliant, the movies are emotional (and corny), and the cooler weather makes it fun to cozy up next to a loved one, but we celebrate so much more than our what our senses can take in. Christmas touches and moves us; it stirs something in us, causing us to pause and reflect on God’s amazing, generous, sacrificial love as we contemplate Jesus’ humble arrival.

Christmas Events

As a way to usher in this special season, every year, Sunridge plans several opportunities to help us get in the spirit of Christmas with events like First Night (the start of Advent), Women’s Christmas Dessert, children’s choirs, and, of course, Christmas Eve services. This year (2024), Sunridge offers two services, 3:30 and 5:00 pm, where you can bring your family and friends to worship God through familiar songs and hear the biblical account of Jesus’ birth. These events allow us to partner with you to accomplish our mission to help people find and follow Jesus. We hope you join us for all of them!

Generosity

I’ve been married for over 35 years now, and I’ve noticed that whenever you spend a lot of time with someone, you tend to pick up some of their habits or traits – it’s inevitable. You start to use some of their words, take on some of their mannerisms, and even think the way they do. The same is true when people start following Jesus; it doesn’t take long to see Jesus’ personification of love, peace, joy, and generosity rub off on us. Since we think about Jesus more in December, it’s no wonder it’s the most generous month of the year. As we do every year, Sunridge likes to provide opportunities to exercise your generosity, and this year, there are two ways you can join us in spreading the good news globally and locally.

• Globally – Sunridge is partnering with Compassion International to see children released from poverty in Jesus’ name. On Sunday, December 15, Compassion International will join us on campus and present opportunities to sponsor children from Nicaragua. Why Nicaragua? Because the need there is great. Plus, Sunridge can take short-term trips to visit the sponsored children as an extra incentive.
• Locally – Sunridge isn’t just another church in the community; we are a church for the community. In addition to our excellent Sunday morning ministries, we host family events like Trunk or Treat, provide parenting and financial classes, and groups for those going through the loss of a loved one or divorce. We partner with local ministries like ICA (International Christian Adoption), Mission Hope, and Birth Choice. Your above-and-beyond generosity in December helps cover the months when giving is lighter, allowing us to continue pursuing our mission throughout the year.

How To Join In

Christmas is the perfect time to reflect on God’s outrageous love and generosity. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.“
