This is not just a masterful piece of oration; The Sermon on the Mount contains the quintessential teachings of Jesus. Everything he subsequently taught finds its origins in it. The gospels and the apostles’ teachings are based on it. Since that first time when Jesus gathered his followers together to teach them, all Christian beliefs and values have sprung from this remarkable source.
