Goodness & Faithfulness

Britt Sipe

We are more divided than ever in this country over politics: We’ve lost friends. Some members of our families no longer speak to each other. Churches are divided. Some are scared about what the future holds. Most are exhausted by it all. You may be surprised to realize that this is nothing new. At the time of Jesus’ ministry, people had huge disagreements over politics. People resented each other. They were bitter. Hatred of “the other” was considered a virtue. But Jesus taught his followers a different way. Their differences remained, but Jesus taught them how to disagree well. “Following Jesus In An Election Year” offers a way forward for all who are anxious, resentful, or exhausted. The solution was in following him.
