QUESTIONS JESUS ASKED: Who do you say I am?

Britt Sipe

The gospels record Jesus asking three-hundred-seven questions. He is asked one-hundred-eighty-three, of which he directly answered only eight. Jesus asked things like: “What do you want?” “Do you want to get well?” “Do you see this woman?” I’ve always pictured Jesus’ preparation of the disciples in a classroom-like format; he is the rabbi downloading the semester’s course information to his students. Their job is to complete the assigned reading, attend the lectures, and at the end, know the answers. Of late, I’ve been rethinking that impression. Maybe the end game is not having all the right answers, but to develop the curiosity to ask the right questions. What do you think? (By the way, Jesus asked that question seven times).
