Last weekend Britt Sipe was presented by the Elder Board to become the next permanent Lead Pastor at Sunridge. When they asked for your input you responded with an overwhelming 98% vote of affirmation! (The presentation and Britt’s response can be viewed here.)
With a new day dawning at Sunridge it will take all of us to insure a smooth yet energetic transition. There are three action steps I’d like you to consider:
- Pray for wisdom and discernment during this final stage of transition.
- Connect in one of our many groups to cultivate authentic community.
- Give an offering over and above your regular giving before October 1st to ensure a strong close of our fiscal year. (To give online click here.)
Thank you for your patience and persistence during our transition season. I firmly believe that the best is yet to come! (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Grace & Peace,
Words cannot express how much Cindy and I appreciate the outpouring of love we received from you on Sunday. Your kind words, big hugs, and vote of affirmation were a huge boost to us, giving us double-confirmation that the calling we sensed was indeed from God. We are honored, humbled, grateful, and ready to start the next new adventure with you. To God be the glory.
Some of you have asked about our timeline. Right now, it appears I will be stepping into the Lead Pastor role around the first of December. In the meantime, I will be living in the two worlds of the fire department and Sunridge. I will spend the next two months handing the baton to my successor in the fire department, and doing a mind-meld with our Interim Pastor, Gregg Caruso, along with the Elders and Staff. (By the way, what a fantastic team we have. I can’t wait to work alongside them!)
Please continue to pray for Sunridge, for God’s leading, for revival, and consider the “calling” (1 Corinthians 7:17) God has given you.
For His Sake,
Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” ~Isaiah 30:21
