In 2005, Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy was killed in action in the Hindu Kush of Afghanistan while conducting a surveillance mission with a four-man SEAL team, gathering information on a known terrorist leader. For his selfless actions, Lieutenant Murphy was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
In memory of his sacrifice, his friends and team members created a workout to be done once a year on Memorial Day to honor not only his memory but the memory of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Join us on May 28th from 7:30am-9:30am here on our Sunridge campus to accomplish this Murph Challenge together!
The challenge includes a one-mile run around the Sunridge parking lot, then you will head into the Self Made gym for 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 air squats, then back to the parking lot for another mile run.
Do what you can! Modified moves and “Half Murphs” are welcome, no gear necessary. Invite a friend to do it with you!
