Compassion International is a non-profit organization that helps link children in poverty to a local church. These local churches utilize projects offering training, resources and support to help children overcome poverty as they grow. Because Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Compassion’s outreach, as a sponsor you not only provide food, medical attention and other daily needs, but also an opportunity for these children in poverty to experience the love of Christ and be taught His Word.
Compassion addresses the needs of the whole child by focusing around 4 core areas: spiritual growth, education, relational development and health. Children who grow up in poverty often believe the lie that they don’t matter. So often these children grow up without knowing that they are made in the image of God and that He has a purpose for their lives. Compassion seeks to change that, and you can too.
During the Compassion Sunday event on May 18th, you will be able to read about different children and their stories and select a child to sponsor right there! Through your sponsorship, a child in poverty will be blessed not only through your monetary support but also through the encouragement of your letters and prayers; that child will build up their confidence and faith in a loving God.
