In 1968, Joe Woods was 28 year old, married with two children, and was a Crash Rescue Firefighter in the United States Air Force. He was invited to hear an evangelist in little country Methodist Church. The evangelist preached on heaven and hell during the meetings. Being a firefighter, he knew all about fire and pain. On the last day of the meetings, he left his seat and walked forward, giving his life to Christ-he was NOT going to hell!
A year and a half later, God called him to go to Arizona College of the Bible in Phoenix. He graduated in 1974, and since then, has served in two churches; one in Phoenix and one in Murrieta. In 1983, he was trained and then certified as a Board Certified Hospital Chaplain. He later received his Master’s Degree in Ministry at Trinity Seminary in Indiana. After some 40 years of serving full time, he now serves as hospital chaplain at Loma Linda University Hospital in Murrieta on an on-call basis.
