Daniel became a Christian teaching Sunday School at a large church in Orange County. Even though he had volunteered to serve in the children’s ministry, he was struggling with what it meant to “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Realizing that he was not a believer, the children’s director put him in a class of two-year-olds. On Christmas of 1980, during a “Happy Birthday” party for Jesus, God impressed on his heart through those little children that we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as if a child. He was led to Christ by the Holy Spirit working through a class of 30 two year olds.
Daniel served as a children’s pastor at a large church in Orange County for ten years. During that time, he and his wife, Marla, traveled overseas on numerous short term ministry trips. In 1988, they spent two weeks training children’s workers in Poland. It was that short term ministry trip and God’s work in their lives that God used to call them to move to Poland. Their church was heavily involved in discerning that call with them and sending them to Poland. In 1991, they moved to Krakow, Poland in response to God’s concern for children and His Church there, working under Every Generation Ministries (EGM).
EGM has work in 13 countries around the world transforming children in Christ. EGM establishes national ministry teams that provide innovative leadership development to children’s workers serving in local churches. These teams also provide culturally relevant Bible teaching materials, all designed to connect the word of God with the real life of children to see them transformed in Christ through His church.
