If you're looking to give your bible reading and devotional life a boost, then check out Lectio Divina.
Dating back to the 6th Century, Lectio Divina is an ancient spiritual practice established by Saint Benedict. It utilizes a contemplative approach to the Bible that has four separate steps: read, meditate, pray and contemplate. Its primary focus is not theological in nature but focuses instead on Jesus and cultivating a living relationship with our God.
Both new and seasoned believers will enjoy and benefit from this anciently-fresh approach to discovering truth and listening to God. Bring your Bible, journal and pen. All ages welcome.
About Lauralyn...
Currently studying 'Leadership and Spiritual Formation' through the Journey Institute, Lauralyn and her husband Dean have three teenage daughters and yet she still finds time to quiet her soul in her busy suburban life. In her work with marginalized juveniles she developed a love for the abandoned and soon discovered that the key to their healing was found in an abiding relationship with Christ. A guiding verse for her ministry has been Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
Lauralyn launched Brown Bag, teaches and leads in Women's Ministry and directs the Ridders of Rubbish Volunteer Group with her family and friends.
